unstable GPU usage in a game

    4770 512mb 128bit
    game is dota 2 with gtx 550ti monitored with msi afterburner, gpu % usage fluctuates from 40 to 80 everytime not regardless on a scene. With heavy scene (clashing teams casting all skills) highest point is only 75 :3eyes: and my fps surely hops down on low 30's @ 68'c.

    - already disabled power savings on gpu and windows
    - properly installed direct x june 2010

    don't understand why because I game everytime but then during this TI4 it lags like hell.

    no noticeable problematic behavior on tomb raider 2013 game. always stable 95-99% usage @ 79'c

    The problem is your CPU. It's bottlenecking GPU. The reason GPU is not used 100% is because the CPU canĀ“t deliver enough data to it for processing. In MMO's, the more characters there are on screen, the harder the CPU has to work. In Tomb Raider there relatively few characters to draw.

    In short, you need a better CPU.

    I don't get it this is my set up when it was hitting 90% average while using sweetfx. If it is off it's plain smooth.

    I don't think you're CPU is bottlenecking that card.

    If i'm correct Dota is more of a cpu heavy game then gpu.
