Is it just an old Titanium, or one of the newer Titanium HD's?

I had 2 of them in the past, i had asus ones and the Titanium is the best out of them.

But that's what my ears tell me.

If i get lucky and sell my HT system i might be able to get a high end soundcard.

Asus ones? That could be any number of cards...from a $30 card to a card worth a few hundred.

Titanium is pretty old now. Go for a newer soundcard regardless. You'll find the Creative Titanium HD selling at slightly higher than what the old Titanium used to sell for (when I got one at the end of 2008), for example. Old titanium is EoL since long.

It's mostly a toss-up between the Xonars, Titanium HD, and Sound Blaster Z series if you want a PCI-E soundcard that handles gaming (and by gaming I don't necessarily mean effects like X-Fi Crystallizer, CMSS-3D, or Dolby Headphone whatever - I turn all these off immediately - I mean support, crackling and popping issues, etc... that might happen with audiophile grade equipment that does not have games in mind).

Aight, i sold my panasonic HT.

What budget PCIE soundcard should i go for??

I can get this of my budget:

    - Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional
    - Creative SoundBlaster Recon3D PCI-E
    - Asus Xonar DX/XD (it's kinda old i just read)
    - Asus Xonar DSX

Hey i just changed the list, maybe some others who are better.

Let me know, i want to order it now along with Corsair Vengeance K90 keyboard. :)

edit: I'm also considering buying a cheaper keyboard IF you guys recommend me putting more money into a soundcard (ONLY if it makes a difference in sound quality!)

I just installed the soundcard, but i don't get any sound.

When i try to test it says device in use, but i have restarted my PC and it still says the same thing.

edit: nvm, choose the wrong device as my default.

edit2: Wow, the difference is HUGE with a soundcard. But when playing music the bass is extremely boomy haha i even turned down the subwoofer levels on my receiver to -2 and it's still so boomy. :p

Take some time to get the system balanced out for response.
I would also recommend spending some time to experiment with all the various settings.

As this will go a long way to getting the best sound and enjoyment out of you new card.

    Enjoy.

Using digital with a receiver can actually be a downgrade in many cases.
