As well as the lightening edition. Though i recently discovered they aren't voltage locked like i thought Afterburner isn't updated to adjust voltage. So people are flashing to Asus Bios to use AI tweak or whatever it's called to adjust voltage.
It runs too hot, I'd rather a 780 because there is no way I could play games knowing my GPU was at 95c. I'll wait to see what people like Asus do with after market coolers, however if they take too long with it I'd just wait for the 880 at that point.
Simple solution if your in the market for one, don't buy reference. This is by all means AMD's fermi. Watercooling has already proved these things aren't incredibly hot, they just have possibly the most inadequate cooler on them. Custom cooling should bring it down. Had they designed a reference cooler like the 780/Titan it would've cost more. So wait and see what the aftermarket solutions do or wait for the 780Ti to launch so the 780 price drops. In conclusion wait a bit before you spend 650$ on a 780 when a month from now you might could have it for 450-500$ Np man i would have one but i'm waiting to see what happens by the end of november. On one hand i want to wait for a 780 price drop but on the other these 290s once OCed are pretty monstrous. If the 290 matches the 780 or is around 5% of the 780 performance i'll probably have one, though i'll still have to wait for custom cooling solutions. Then again for benching purposes i want a 290x....i'm all over the place right now. :bang:

A 290 with a custom cooler will be a killer card, especially for around £350. You really can't go wrong, I was definitely going to get one, but too late now. I might still buy one if I don't like crossfire
So you went crossfire in the end? Hows it so far? i am waiting for 290 to be released to the world, before i pull a tirgger!
290 has apparently been delayed to November 5th as a result of AMD releasing a better driver for it. (source: the guys who had the 290X specs right)
if we were talking about a bios then sure it makes sense, but no, we're talking about gpu review benchmarks( a few extra fps over NVidia), at the expense of the customer.
