Exclusive: Radeon HD 4750 RV740 - 40nm preview Guru3D.com today has a special and exclusive preview read for you guys. It's the worlds first article on a 40nm based graphics card it embeds the RV740... More...
omg HOW DO THEY DO IT? Wait, this thing outperforms the 4830...They've screwed up the numbering scheme the bastards.
Very nice, would be good to get an official figure for the price (unless the $100 estimate is..). Would a be a nice upgrade if I had a crossfire supporting board.
Its not actually called the 4750, that was hilbert's "codename" By numbering scheme, you'd have to call it the 4840
nah your 96gt its about the same performance wise,if you had a 86gt it would be worthwhile. i highly dougt your getting that cooler on referance thuo....
Erm not quite, If you read what I wrote (referring to the crossfire motherboard) you'll see I'd pay a small sum for some nice crossfire action.
oh cf with these cards would not be too smart when you can get 4870 for under 200usd the 4870 would be faster at higher rez also.
Two of these would beat HD4870 by huge margin imo. I can even guess powerconsumption wouldnt be much higher and heat would be very low . And actualy we can guess that this card will OC like mad. Two of these might actualy come close to GTX280 ...
I disagree, it's a lower end card designed for lower resolutions, in crossfire that won't change as even with Gddr5 it'll still be memory bandwidth bottlenecked at higher resolutions due to having a 128bit bus.
The card in the review is even faster than the current 4830. And two 4830s in crossfire wipe the floor with the 4870 Even at the insane resolution of 2560x1600 it is only a couple frames, or about 10%, behind the 4850. EDIT: Two 4830s actually beat a GTX 280 in some cases. http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16300&page=5
Don't think you need more then this for low rez .... or do you ..... (someone's going to 3-way crossfire it anyway and you know it)
The 4830 has higher memory bandwidth than a '4750', and not all games will be memory bandwidth limited at higher resolutions (such as call of duty). Why would you only want to play some games at higher resolutions when you can get a single card that will play most games fine.
Two 4830 512mb's beat a 4870 1gb I was going to get a couple of 4830's for my build coming up in April but I think I'll go with these RV740's in crossfire instead. I am more than surprised that these beat the 4830. Consider my mind blown. :infinity:
