I didn't say it is not, I said it has issues with new 19x.xx drivers therefore I see no reason to migrate on Win7, so, I stuck with Vista SP2 and 182.50. Works fine except teh fact that most 2010 games crashes on it ;<

Here is an example how fan control in RivaTuner fails on 19x.xx:

    2.25 request.

All 19X drivers cause one or the other GPU to either not clock up or down when going in and out of 3D. Only ones that work properly for me are 190.38. (both XP and 7-64).

    Current 197.13 keeps GPU1 at 3D while in 2D.

When I disable then enable SLI, the both clock back correctly. So, is there a possibility to have SLI enable/disable button?

No amount of clock profiles/launcher items has any affect.

It's enough to drive a person to drink. :D

    Thanks

197.13 Nvidia new drivers have been released. Please update rivatuner so we can use the new drivers on it.

I have a different problem with fan control on GTX260 (stock cooling) - I am not sure if it is because of the newest WHQL drives, or is it because I switched to windows 7 - anyways I had fan profiles and events in scheduler so that my fan is slow when gpu temp is low - The lowest fan profile I had was 27% (from what I know the lowest fan speed RT allows is 25%) - but recently I noticed that this profile is never used, even if the temperature is very low - I entered driver fan setting and sliders only allow me to go to 33%, not lower. Anyone knows how to fix it? In a silent PC there is a noticeable difference in loudness between 25% and 33%

For me this works like a charm when I've had my GTX260. :)

Saw this at EVGA regarding precision.

    http://www.evga.com/forums/fb.ashx?m=258250

BTW, Precision uses driver level fan control, using Low level as burebista mentions should work.

AFAIK, as long as it has a software controllable fan.

Burebista, thanks for very useful link!

Another idea for fan control - if everything fails it should be possible to set lower fan speeds in bios - or am I wrong?

if you've noticed, there are afterburner releases coming out. he gets PAID to work on that, so it's important that he works on that first
