Where we can talk about how all the best modern books are dystopian and we can look down upon the GoT circlejerkers because we've read ASOIAF already. :nerd: I see the door
What's a circlejerkers? I haven't read any of the Game of Thrones books. I read more crime fiction and space opera so I doubt I'd have much to contribute anyway...
I'm very much a fan of fantasy, and while I enjoy GoT there are better series out there. If anyone thinks GoT is particularly deep, I'd highly suggest picking up the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Personally speaking, I'm eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. I absolutely loved the first two books. I'm really excited by the fact he's helping with the story of the upcoming Torment: Tides of Numenera.
Currently going at this Which will finish off the discworld series for me, starting reading them start to end (some back and forth though between series) in 2007, taken me a while.
Just started reading The Walking Dead. Picked up the completarium #1 and have read 1 of 8 books that are in it. And I need to find the Assassin's Creed books. Also almost done with the second book in the Divergent trilogy Insurgent.
Friendly advice. If you played the AC games with Ezio don't buy Renaissance, Brotherhood and Revelations because they are one of the worst kind of books. Literally copy and paste from the game script. All the same dialogues and nothing new. Buy them if you are a collector such as myself. For the rest books are decent, even very good if never touched AC game.
yay, a book thread nice idea.... well, im reading "Industrial Society and its Future" from Theodore J. Kaczynski. pretty good read, but sometimes a bit hard to follow.. Im half trough, but so far its good and it teaches u a lot... Also the book was written more then 10 years ago and every word hits the Present. greetz BetA
To my shame it's been several months since I last read a book, still buying my history magazines but those don't count. One of the last ones I read was BioShock: Rapture, pretty neat little novel if you are into the Bioshock universe, and at that time I was replaying all the games as well. :nerd: Any awesome fantasy books you can recommend? Except Asoiaf of course, I heard good things about the Blade itself (First Law), never got arround getting it though.
Just finished World War Z, and its still not better than the Newsflesh trilogy. Now I'm reading the first book of the Uglies series, and so far I'm not that impressed. Adaptations have a tendency to be sh*tty, excluding the Metro or Halo series ofc.
Any David Milch ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Milch ) fans here? (Deadwood, cop shows etc) True Blue http://www.amazon.com/True-Blue-David-Milch/dp/0380725053 The stories from him and Bill Clark ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clark ) are great.
Heh, I was speaking of adaptations in general. The Metro game series is an adaptation of those books. Metro 2033 happens to be my favorite singleplayer fps game.
That was the last book I read. The question is what order are you reading them in. http://images4.fanpop.com/image/pho...Reading-Order-discworld-22614060-1280-960.gif I always end up reading them in release order.
