    Improve compatability

    Is there any way to help improve compatibility for this? It works fine for my acer but I'd really like to get it to work with my 120Mhz BenQ as it currently just corrupts the screen output with a load of multicoloured lines and generally screws up my whole screen set up.
    If there's a thread for development could someone forward the link?

    Ok...this is how to force Ati Downsampling Utility able to work with 13.1 drivers (at least it works for me just fine):

    1. If you have 13.1 version installed - uninstall it; uninstall all AMD software and drivers through Windows "Programs and Features"; after reboot use Official AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility to clean up.
    2. Fresh install Catalyst 12.11 betas (i was trying those). After reboot set downsampling resolutions as you did as usual for your preferences. Check if it works correctly. Reboot.
    3. Uninstall (again) all AMD software and drivers through Windows "Programs and Features"; after reboot use Official AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility to clean up. BUT don't remove or delete any settings or registry entries of AMD downsampling tool.
    4. Install Catalyst 13.1. Reboot.
    5. Downsampling should work as normal with previously saved settings, but can't allow you to adding new ones.

    EDIT:
    Just check it - no need in uninstall process via Windows "Programs and Features" anymore...Official AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility destroys any AMD software, drivers and reg-entries in OS...like ALL and completely, but keep DU tool strings :)

    EDIT2:
    This will also work with 13.3 or maybe any future drivers version.

    I've been checking the German site daily and everyone's consensus there is to simply stay with the 12.11 drivers :wanker:

    I will add this as a temporary workaround to the initial post.

    Please make sure to add... that if you are using Windows 8... NOT TO USE THE un-installation tool. As it is not compatible and will totally mess up your installation of Windows 8.

    @Derko1,
    well yeah...as they (AMD) said in official description: Currently supports Windows 7 :)

    It wasn't in the description originally :p

    As another note, you should probably be careful if you use an AMD SATA Controller and have AMD's drivers installed. The utility broke my Windows 7 install...

    @Espionage724,
    yep, i have AMD SATA Controller which works in AHCI mode o_0 ...but i haven't noticed any deviation at his work or anything such. Should i start to worry about? :) ...but how exac this utility broke your w7 "install"?...for re-check purposes from our side here ;)

    Just in case people blindly downloaded... specially since that was added after the fact.

    Well I simply used the AMD uninstaller from the programs and apps and then installed 13.1... as expected, it retained all of my settings and now I have the 13.1s and downsampling still works!

    wOOt! I'm happy that it least it works in this manner. :banana:

    Yeah that worked for me too, but I found the picture scaling was off. For example in CS:Go, I couldn't see some of the menu options at the bottom of the screen.

    good move since most likely why it wouldnt run is you dont have the java runtime's installed, green camp could use more people who blame AMD for everything ;)

    the problem which you have with java, downsampling tool or anything else are easy will be solved by installing Windows 7 x64 ;) ...no, seriously you still sitting on winxp x32??!!!..for real?! why not win98 then? xd
