    i think that's the same as mine >> SB046A

UAA 1.5 is very good set im using this for almost a good year, otherwise try SB X-Fi PCI Install Disc 1.0 (unofficial).

Thanks Hunter, I used to have some problems with old drivers and spdif passthrough to the receiver, movies with DTS / DD had some "cuts" but I don't remember what i did to resolve this.
Did you try these drivers in that way?
What about the newer SB X-Fi Series AuzenForte Pack? I see it has newer drivers and versions of almost every program, have you ever tried this one?

Thanks again and sorry for my English, I'm from Argentina :p

hm idk about SPDiF i never used it, but both packs should work fine, except UAA doesn't have "what you hear" option, its UAA limitation.

Abut that Forte pack; i didnt like it, it caused some sound issues and crashed in 1 or 2 openAL games.

Could be ok with ur pc, idk but i didnt try them since then..

Well there could be some newer packs, i'll have to take a look, its been a while :nerd:

Hunter, thanks again for your quick reply.
One last question, after installing X-Fi Series AuzenUAA Pack 1.5, should I update with X-Fi PCI Series Driver v2.17.0008A (updated)??

    hey np :nerd:

anyway no dont mix them, it will screw everything and you might get that issue like gridiron whirlw on page 1 (post#17), it happened to me too 2-3 times lol out of clumsiness.

So yea either use only Forte driver suite and use that updated version on Forte pack or only UAA driver suite, but dont mix with original creative or PAX suites or other Daniel K suites :)

But wait a minute, in post #6 it says:

"This is suppose to be an updated UAA driver only.", it's not supposed to be an update for post #5, AAuzenUAA??

Am I doing a wrong interpretation?

ah sorry yea you're right, idk how i mixed that lol :D

anyway i didn't like them much, i had some sound crackles with it.. maybe because they're made from X-fi titanium driver and not from auzen prelude like by UAA 1.5 suite or maybe i didnt erase it properly:pc1:

If you decide to test them, first uninstall the driver with WDM? installer (its in driver folder) then install this updated driver again with that wdm installer.

I have the same card as this (I think), it came out of a Lenovo ThinkStation S10 and has "SB0770" written on the board and "SB0772" in the serial number.

I have tried using the X-Fi Support Pack 2.0 drivers as it states that it supports the OEM models from Dell, Lenovo etc. but I get terrible sound quality (clicks, hisses, pops and general distortion).

The only drivers I have tried that give me good quality sound are the Vista drivers from the Lenovo site but then CMSS-3D does not work so I can not get surround sound when listening to music (I do get surround sound when watching TV or movies with 5.1 audio).

Please can someone advise me as to the best driver pack to install for this card?

    Many thanks, Sim

    Thanks for the swift response!

I tried this pack a couple of days ago and just got no sound, I'll give it another go using the updated driver and let you know how I get on.

    Cheers, Sim

Ok, tried the updated driver and get the same issue with distortion/clicks/pops etc. as I did with the Support Pack 2.0 drivers.

I also get this issue if I let Windows Update search for drivers or if I use the drivers from Creative using auto detect (This was tried when I first rebuilt my PC to Win7).

I think I might be forced to give up on this and either go back to the Vista drivers and live without surround sound for my music, or buy a new sound card that has decent support for Windows 7 x64. Can anyone recommend a 7.1 card with Toslink I/O for Win7x64?

    Many thanks, Sim

No. You shouldn't run Windows 7 (x64? x86?) at all.
