Anyone going to post performance comparisons between this and something like 162.50?

Hi. Just a quick question to you guys. I'm in the UK running Vista 32-bit. I've always downloaded and installed the international version of nvidia's drivers as advised on their site but with these I've put the US version on as the international ones weren't available initially (they are now). What is the difference between the US and UK ones? I heard the main use of the international ones is they support other languages so why different ones for US and UK as they're both English?

Yeah I've always wondered that, I mean UK English IS different from US English in spelling and some pronounciation, but other than that most programs just use US English for everything so for the sake of a driver, who on earth cares if something is spelt with an S or a Z?

I need to install FRAPs because BioShock demo was running damn nice on my computer with these drivers on med-high settings.

you need to rerun the benchmark a few times more until you have stable results. comparing two sets of results when the cpu score differs by such a large magnitude won't give you a fair comparison.

Yes. Scores should ideally be averages of several run-throughs, and the machine freshly booted before each driver set's tests so there's no lingering other programs in memory, etc. The CPU difference there is an indication the results are flawed.

I suppose what they do show is that there's proportionally better performance with shader model 3.0 with 163.44 though, which would make sense since that's BioShock's base model and there're meant to be optimised towards it.

Seems a good driver but I have some issues.

At Lost Planet the big worm (I don't remember in which level) has some of its textures meshed up.

And I got 3 BSOD till I installed them. I never got a BSOD in the past. Anyone else got BSOD with those ?

These seem to be best improved in SM3.0 then :)

By the way, these drivers don't have an SLI profile for Bioshock. I got about 18-30 fps in Bioshock with all eye candy off with 1920x1200 resolution. Now I added Bioshock.exe to the profile manager and turned on all SLI stuff (one display performance mode etc.) and now my fps is 60-70 o_O

Same 3Dmark06 score as XG 158.22 Drivers but WAY sharper image and smoother shadows for me.

Not necessary IMO. I've been installing drivers for quite a long time with nTune in place and that didn't gave me any problems (although I don't use nTune anymore, so I have it removed for some time now). But there's an interesting thing though..I remember that after removing nTune nvidia CP stopped to work so I had to reinstall my drivers :D
