I agree its easy to tell when you have the gear that will let you hear the flaws of on-board audio. Which why I cant stand to use on-board audio when ever I have to when it comes to realtek and VIA...

Actually they still do not close the gap, A simple Xonar DG still produce better audio then realtek and VIA Onboard audio. Because motherboard makers still used cheap components for the audio...

They wrong, The op-amp sockets on the ZXR are for both Speakers and headphone out. The I/V and the buffer are used when your using the speakers output, while the I/V are just used when your using...

Yea You def don't wanna block your video card air flow with a sound card in the way. Since you prolly gonna keep your SLI setup then going to a external dac amp would be the best choice for you.
