So long as the RAM is stable within a reasonable voltage there is no real risk. There is a good reason why pretty much all RAM comes with lifetime warranty. I ran my E8400 at 4.4GHz when it was new...

It says Super Over Clock on the box and has stock clocks of 1178/1329MHz and 7GHz on the memory. The ones I've seen called G1 here are all the SOC model, the cheaper one the box doesn't say G1...
