    Hi there!

I've got a 7800GS+ with Gainward's stock cooling running at 495/690 (Default 450/625) - not an extreme overclock and it seems to run HL2/Dark Messiah fine with no issues. However - the temperature is hitting around 72 degrees and I'm wondering if that's a little on the high side? When not running games, it idles at around 57 degrees.

Whaddya think? Should I knock it back a notch? Thanks!

Under the 'Core Slowdown Threshold'? It says 125 degrees but I'd guess if my card hits those kind of temps then it's already too late for it :D

    Under 70 degrees - 62-65 approx.

And yeah - the airflow ain't great in there - too much hardware and cables getting in the way - it's a dual Xeon too which probably doesn't help...

Niiice! So it's quite the overclocker then? :D

What kind of cooling have you got on that? You're not using the stock cooler??

    Those temps are a-ok.
I have connected the fan directly to +12v so it runs 100% all time and I get 75c when running 650/1460 under heavy load.

Very cool! Is that volt-mod a pencil or paint job? Or is a little more involved than that? :D

doublee: Thanks! Guess it'll be fine then :)
