LONDON (Reuters) - A British army pilot has been disciplined by senior officers for using a tank-busting helicopter to deliver a pizza to his girlfriend. The pilot, based with 659 Army Air Corps squadron in Suffolk, was on a map-reading training drill when he dropped off the pizza to his girlfriend who was taking part in an exercise 30 miles (50 km) away. The 25-year-old lieutenant had picked up the takeaway before setting out on the sortie in his Lynx helicopter, the Sun newspaper reported on Tuesday. He was reprimanded but did not have his pilot's licence taken away, the paper added. "The opportunity to add a light-hearted element to the planned sortie was taken but with no detriment to the sortie objective," a Ministry of Defence spokeswoman told Reuters. world's best what now???? Heh, that is pretty funny. I wonder what his girlfriend's reaction was. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, all the windows start to shake in the neighborhood. This military helicopter lands, a dude runs out and delivers a pizza, hops back in and takes off. Awesome!! Delivering pizza with style. Screw cars, all pizza companies should switch to helicopters.
Me too (I should laugh, but a really small part of Canada's taxes go to England because we use their Monarchy system and their Queen is our Queen too,etc...LOL Very weird but hey who cares .
I am British. This made me laugh, and as a tax payer.. I honestly don't really mind what he did, it's a one off incident that made me chuckle. I will continue to hold the uttermost pride for our Armed Forces. =p
lol thats quite funny at least i can see where the 30% tax i pay to import stuff from america is going... I dont see why anybody got worked up about that - maybe used an extra £100 worth of aviation fuel... so what? Stylish pizza delivery though i wreckon he should have chucked it out and let it parachute down on its own little chute - that would be cool
