HI guyz, not sure if this is the best place to post this but ive just read the Radeon HD 7950 Crossfire 2 and 3-way reviewhttp://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-7950-crossfire-review-2-and-3way/ and what a great review,
2 things though, i would of liked to see it done on a pci-e3 platform which is where the 7000 crossfired is supposed to shine and i only saw ati`s 4890 mentioned once :(

Well, I don't think PCI-e 3.0 would have made any difference really. The only difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is increased bandwidth, and even the 7970 couldn't manage to come close to saturating a 2.0 slot overclocked.

As for the 4800 series...face it, they're old cards now. As I'm sure you'll agree, they can still put up a fight, but with the 5000 and 6000 series to compare to, why bother mentioning the 4000 series?

I've been trying to hold out on buying a new card until Kepler arrives, but with the performance scaling of the 7950... I dunno. My birthday is in March, so if Nvidia doesn't at least have some confirmed specs and a release date on their 28nm flagship by then, I'll probably treat myself to a 7970/2x7950.

Review fails if its a crossfire review with no Eyefinity level resolutions tested. They are where it gets interesting and even 3way (/quad) makes sense.
