Hi guys, so I decided to buy a new computer and I have just found out about Eyefinity on a Radeon 6850. However the computer I will buy have a GTX 460 and so I was wondering can I use 3d vision without the kit with glasses and all, but will it look like Eyefinity with 3 screens? Appreciate any answers to my question. Thanks.
AMD's eyefinity can be run from a single GPU from the 5xxx series onwards. Nvidia has an identical technology - 2D surround, but this requires DUAL graphics cards, unfortunately.
3d vision does not equal eyefinity nvidia surround = eyefinity 3d vision is just that...3D..you need the glasses.. be it colored lens (anaglyph glasses) or the active shutter glasses nvidia surround requires 2 or more cards running in SLI (apart from the specialised cards teleguy posted) there is another way to get triple monitor gaming happening (dx9 only unfortunatly) with a dll called SoftTH..and a 2nd graphics card (can be an entry level card, it doesnt do any real work..it just displays portions of a pre-rendered image (rendered on the first/main/primary/powerfull card..the sides are then chopped up and passed off to the 2nd card for display))
