Check out this review for Radeon RG2133 RAM. What caught my eye is how this RAM is 50 fps faster than another kit of RAM running at the same speed and size. I've read enough benchmarks over the years to know that RAM speed in gaming doesn't have too much of an effect. Anand even benched 1333 to 2400 kits and the difference for gaming was within a percent. This guy has a 50% bump and didn't even change speed or size. Just went from AMD to G.SKILL. Anyway, I'm trying to call bull**** but apparently I'm the only one who read the review, or gives a ****. Either way I need some backup, I hate ****ty benching. http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/amd_radeon_rg2133/
There was talk a few years ago (and I do mean a few) of AMD wanting to implement a different way of accessing the RAM or something that was meant to improve performance, maybe it was the page size? This was at a chip level, not an OS level.
