Microsoft has caved and came to its senses as they have changed the Office 2013 EULA to allow users to move the program to a new PC. Under the original license terms, you couldn't install a retail co...

''You'll be allowed one transfer every 90 days''

Just when one thinks "hey, it's been a long time since I heard of some ridiculous move made by companies...", micro$oft jumps in to help...

I would not use their buggy office even if they pay me to do so. I'd stick to LibreOffice, with support for all .doc and .docx et cetera

I find the Office 2007 ribbon interface (incl 2010 and 2013) much more efficient. Tried using OO the other day (which has a similar interface as 2003) to be cluttered, hard to find the correct button etc. :)
Have they made is possible to open .docx on 2003 btw?

Just download the compatibility pack and the older versions will open the .x versions.

You used Openoffice.org? It's practically dead. Try out Libre Office.

I think my wife still uses open office or whatever that free office program is. I can't remember which.

Yeah, like the consistent rendering of RTF files where the same file is being rendered differently between Office versions; MS could never get it right.

But really, even for SMBs LO is quite more than enough, especially with the 4.x release.
