:3eyes: I find this hard to believe, is Detroit that small or are they only talking about the horrible city parts?
Well it has gone from 1.5 million to 700 000 the city area. Metropolitan are has gone from 3.2 to 4.2million tho. City has gone to bit ruin from what I've read
I was there about 5 years ago with my wife for a conference she was attending. It was a sh!thole then and from what I hear, it's only gotten worse.
Sadly this is the truth this is what old America has become this was once a pinical of American culture now it a ghost town.... SMH
So they're only talking about the City area, how am i not surprised. In pretty much every state they have a city area and most of the city is in bad condition. Why the news people didn't say this, who knows. Nobody cares about the poor, doesn't matter where you are in the world. Hopefully one day things get better.
I was there two weeks ago and it's really not that bad. I'm pretty sure they went bankrupt from completely rebuilding three of the major interstates that run through the city. They're nice to drive on at least. Also, when I say "not that bad" I'm talking about downtown and the other non-abandoned areas. It doesn't feel like you're entering a third world country at all anymore, so congrats to them on that part. The endless square miles of chemical plants and refineries about 2 miles south of the city are somewhat unpleasant to look at though.
that's racist. that is a democratic run city for the last 50+ years, it might be a mistake., wait, sucking the life off a tax payer doesn't work? holy ****? that"s odd. i mean.. Barack is the best president ever and to question him is racist/sexist/homophobic.
It´s the drugs, violence and unemployment. Mostly in the suburbs. I saw a documentary about Detroit and though to myself "mmm ok if move to the eua, detroit will be the last place i choose".
