is the above mentioned chip compatible with this asus motherboard? http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A87TDUSB3/ its not on the cpu support list, but even if its pin compatible, will there be a bios warning of an incompatible cpu installed? :3eyes:
Athlon II's are AM3 dude. Socket A was Athlon XP and they were all single core. It has Regor core just like any other Athlon II, and is only 65w. There's no reason it shouldn't work even if it's not listed.
Doesn't mean it won't either. Apart from lower TDP it's the same as any other Athlon II X2, there is no reason for it not to work.
Quite true. Manufacturers don't always update compatibility lists for every product they offer either...
hmm. thats the dilemma ... should i risk it? i want to buy a chip off ebay, there is no retuns though
You can always send an email to them(if your still not sure, but it should be compatible). They will tell you. I had to do that with a CPU with my last mb. They were quick to answer. ---Blitz
