=====Just thought about older Drivers from green team and thought that detonators were pretty cool name for drivers. I recall 22.80 and 23.11 drivers being famous.. -PEACE
Oh, I remember when they released the first drivers under that name. They were supposed to have brought revolutionary performance gains, and they did! Some early major revisions could net you as much as 20 to 30 percent in higher resolutions.
My SLI Voodoo2s were the peak of performance around this time, but I bought a TNT card to see what the fuss was about but it was about the same performance as a single Voodoo2 card. When TNT2 cards arrived I sold them and loved Detonators! Regular performance increases with driver releases was fun. AMD (ATI) accelerated gaming cards werent in the picture at that time. Those were great days when Windows 98SE ruled and reliability was crap lol. Crashes were expected and mattered less than how well you could game between them (as long as we could get an hour in one go) Very regular saving was key! edit Just before getting my first Voodoo card I bought a PowerVR accelerator and it was so crap I wrote them a letter. They sent me a pre-launch PowerVR2, offering if I sent my old card back they would give me a reduced price on it. That was also so crap they didnt hear from me again. Their advertising was BS. Sadly PowerVR never did get it together and we lost a competitor.
