I been trying google but been having no luck finding a solution at all. I had a backup of my shellstyle.dll but apparently the pc deleted it on its own for some wacked reason.
This is what I get when I open them, now the data is still there since I can use say Ifran view or something with its own version of explorer to open things fine.
Is there anyway I can get rid of this? It's driving me mad. I've only had this 7970 2 days and it has started to make this annoying whine noise. I don't seem to hear it when gaming only when on the desktop doing pretty much nothing. Is sending the card back an option? I've read that any replacement will just be exactly the same.

Should i continue with the sound card using SPDIF in to the DAC or try USB with V-Link to the DAC?

Does anybody else get extremely uncomfortable when a friend is using your computer and they can't keep the mouse away from the edges of the pad? I have a nice mouse, and a nice pad with plenty of space, but for some reason, people can't seem to play in the center of the pad! There is a metal edge to it and every time I see someone get the mouse close to it I can't help but to cringe.

I realize it could be an obsessive aspect of my interest, but how do people not notice that they are potentially degrading the surface of the bottom of my mouse?? I would hate to think a single death is caused by tread marks in the bottom of the padding.

I really hope I'm not the only one with this issue. Is there any way to train people not to put my hardware and kdr at risk? Should we start a PC gaming-style doggy daycare?

Hi Guys

So it's almost that time, my pc is really starting to show its age.

It will be used for a little bit of everything really. Folding and gaming is the 2 main objectives. At the moment i game at 1366x768, but i plan on upgrading that next to a 1080p or similar screen.

Zalman Z11 Case
CORSAIR CX600 V2, 600W
i5 3570k
COOLER MASTER HYPER 212 EVO
COOLER MASTER NANOFUSION, THERMAL GREASE
G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL, RIPJAWSX WITH HEATSINK, 8GB
ASROCK Z77 EXTREME4
MSI R6850 CYCLONE

I already have new drives and a optical etc.

Was looking at Nvidia as well but i could only find 550ti's for the same price of the 6850.

Is there anything i can improve without spending more as this is already a little over my budget. :3eyes:

Regards

I couldn't find one for the GTX 680 but since the GTX 690 has one I thought I'd start one for GTX 680 SLI owners where they can post their experiences, overclocking records and benchmark results.

I fitted a second GTX 680 tonight, a reference Zotac one, alongside my Point of View one and have ran a few benchmarks to test stabilitiy. Fortunately, both these cards, despite being from different manufacturers, have the same BIOS version plus they look identical too when you glance at them in the case. Both cards are running with a core clock offset of +150 MHz (base core clock= 1,156 MHz) and a memory core offset of +350 MHz (memory clock=6.7 GHz).

I ran the Unigine Heaven 3.0 benchmark (@ 1920x1200, 16xAF/8xAA, Extreme Tessellation) and scored 2,377 Marks (FPS=92.8 fps, Min. FPS=40.8 fps, Max. FPS=183.9 fps).

These are my 3DMark11 results which show a comparison of my single GTX 680 (with CPU @ 3.6 GHz) vs. GTX 680 SLI (with CPU @ 3.8 GHz):

Extreme Benchmarks (Graphics Test show almost 100% scaling!)

Performance Benchmarks

I'm off to test and play a few games now to see how they "feel". I'd be interested to read other people's scores to see how they compare with mine. I've obviously got an 'old' CPU and I'm gaming at a relatively standard resolution so I'm keen to see just how much performance I'm actually losing.

P.S. I have to say that I'm impressed with the Zotac packaging. The card comes with THREE free Assassin Creed games: AC, AC II Deluxe Edition and AC: Revelations (my POV GTX 680 came with none), a driver CD, a DVI/VGA adaptor and two power adaptor cables. The card comes with a two (might be three) year warranty that can be extended to five just by registering on the Zotac website. The card itself did not come in an anti-static bag though but was surrounded by anti-static padding with a plastic film covering the top of the card.

I have a Lenovo Y470p with a AMD Radeon HD 7690M. First laptop I've ever had. It has this switchable graphics thing to switch between the onboard Intel and the actual Radeon for battery life.

Anyway, to get to the piont of the post. I cannot find updated drivers for this card anywhere. AMD does not have the card on their website and their tool does not find it. The drivers on my laptop are from October of 2011 (from the Device Manager properties tab). The ones on lenovo's site for this laptop say they were from April 2012. After installing them ALL MY GAMES stuttered like crazy so I had to rollback to factory settings to get any games to run.

Is there someway to get AMD to support this GPU or am I better off returning the laptop?
